OUTCAST
"BE GONE, OUTCAST!"
OUTCAST is a zine, written and created by Neuicon, and combines both role playing with tabletop wargaming. Originally created for the Hobby Dungeon's One Page Game Jam, this version offers a more complete game, with additional material that expands the overall experience. YOU are the Outcast, banished from your tribe, wandering the world alone. Games of OUTCAST don't end, until your Outcast is slain, so the story of your journey and exploration of the world continues, as long as you survive its relentlessness.
OUTCAST is played solitaire. You will make up the world as you progress, engaging encounters, either non-combat or combat. When it's time to fight, a skirmish is played out on a battlefield. When you're not in combat, you'll engage towns, take in the sights, go hunting or fishing, take on quests, visit town merchants and so much more. Also available in this version of the game are randomly generated quests, from who offers it, to all the details and reward. Combat is handled with alternating activations, using the game's Fate Deck, or a standard deck of playing cards.
Your Outcast will wander the world that YOU create, facing various threats, and working to survive the grueling environment.
Included in this digital version of the game is the core rulebook, the Fate Deck and in the book itself, hex-maps for your journey (hex-maps are optional, but are encouraged for narrative play).
